Our Membership Policy

Eligibly

No individual shall be denied membership to the Citizens Assembly of South Tyneside if they meet the eligibility requirements. Eligibility is open to;

  • Any person that accepts the aims, goals, values, policies, and procedures of the Citizens Assembly of South Tyneside;
  • Completes the Membership Form;
  • Completes the Acceptance Form AND
  • Is not affiliated to a movement, group, organisation, business, or entity that the planning group deems as inappropriate when considering the goals, values, policies, and procedures of the Citizens Assembly of South Tyneside.

 

Suspension or Termination of Membership

 

Suspension

A suspension of membership can be made by the planning group through a majority vote if the member is in gross violation of the Citizens Assembly of South Tyneside policies or procedures, any member whose membership has been suspended will receive written notification from the planning group. Upon receipt of such notification, all rights and privileges of membership will be considered suspended. Suspension will also lead to the membership of the individual to become β€œinactive”.

 

Termination

A termination of membership can be made by a one-third majority of all active members if the member is in gross violation of the Citizens Assembly of South Tyneside policies or procedures, a special meeting will be called with at least 14 days of notice and the individual will have the right to be heard before the final vote is made. Any member whose membership has been revoked will receive written notification from the planning group. Upon receipt of such notification, all rights and privileges of membership will be considered finished.
