Divest Tyne & Wear campaigners have always swapped recommendations with one another (and other climate contacts) – and some of us are also in book groups.

There’s never been a more important time to share information and support our collective efforts, so it seems a good idea to combine two powerful ideas and launch a climate reading group.

Purpose:

• create a forum for discussion, gaining information and new ideas
• provide supporters with the opportunity to draw on powerful new ideas and arguments
• help us all to gain confidence when contributing to broader debate and policy development, in our campaigns, other groups, the wider community, media coverage etc

Ways you can be involved include;

• suggest titles for the group to read (we share these in our regular newsletters as well)
• take part in group chats (not vital to be available for them all) – let Helen know if you prefer in-person or zoom
• receive the notes with feedback from the group
• help with practicalities (e.g. checking book availability in e-versions, libraries; occasional author involvement; look into venues that allow online participation as well)
• suggest other groups that might like to be partner groups
